The Incoherence of Darwinism

  • Darwinism has been around for over 150 years and it is still being challenged
  • there seems to be a case of “that’s my story and I’m sticking to it”
  • Darwin gave us a superficial plausible mechanism
  • everywhere you look you see exquisite engineering
  • just imagine how long it would take for the worlds best engineers to make a blood system that clots, or a butterfly’s wing
  • everywhere you look you see irreducibly complex systems

Love Thy Body

  • writing things that Francis Schaeffer would be writing
  • addressing all the ways that we despise the human body
  • if a doctor has the authority to bestow personhood, than they have the authority to take it away
  • she is saying that in the Christian faith, both soul and body are woven together
  • we don’t except this radical dualism that separates value and fact


  • means uncleanness
  • the New Testament uses the word to refer to moral uncleanness
  • Matt. 23:27, Rom. 6:19, 2 Cor. 12:21, Gal. 5:19, Eph. 5:3 & 4:19, Col. 3:5, 1 Thess. 2:3 & 4:7
  • the sins surrounding this uncleanness are consistently the sins of wanting, desiring, lusting, grabbing, me-firsting, and envying
  • selflessness is clean and selfishness is consistently unclean
  • when we put ourselves in the central room of the house, we find it impossible to keep that room clean at all
