Show Notes:

Sabbath Keeping

  • there has been a certain kind of Sabbath breaking that glories in Sabbath keeping
  • hyper scrupulosity when it comes to Sabbath keeping is breaking the Sabbath
  • the temptation is to look at what we can’t do on the Sabbath
  • work is not defined as an expenditure of energy
  • the thing you don’t do is the thing you have been doing all week

The Man of the House

  • written by C.R.Wiley
  • book about how to be a vertebrate and responsible man
  • in order to be a husband you have to know how to do things
  • prerequisite for marriage

Akatastatos

  • stand for unstable, refers to a man who cannot thank God in his trials
  • James tells us that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways (Jas. 1:8)
  • we need wisdom in counting it all joy when we fall into trials
  • we need to ask for wisdom in those circumstances
  • if we do not, we are double minded
  • we do not want to be unstable in the midst of trial
  • no discipline seems pleasant at the time but painful
  • the blessing of the toughening process is a delayed gratification
  • we must thank God for our tails without wavering
