Full Stack Developer

We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer who wants to help build the future of digital streaming platforms at Treefort. Treefort is a scrappy technology startup with an explicitly “all of Christ for all of tech” mentality. We are incubated at Canon Press and recently launched the platform that powers Canon+.

We’re looking for someone who can own large projects from start to finish, is willing to jump into any part of the tech stack, can collaborate with designers and other developers, write documentation, and do whatever it takes to deliver a first-class user experience to our customers.

Technical qualifications boil down to having advanced experience with JavaScript and a solid understanding of web fundamentals (HTTP, client-server, HTML, CSS, etc.). Beyond that if you are a quick learner and willing to pick up whatever tools will get the job done you will fit right in. React, TypeScript, Node, or native mobile development experience are a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop frontend user interfaces with React and TypeScript
  • Develop backend services with Node and Postgres
  • Write reliable, organized code
  • Accurately translate designs into code
  • Review code from teammates
  • Write technical documentation
  • Manage infrastructure including build tools, deployment pipelines, servers, and networks
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to fix bugs, triage customer issues, and keep the servers up

Bookkeeper F/T

Canon Press is currently looking to expand its accounting department and is in need of a full-time bookkeeper.  This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills.  In addition to having an attention to detail, the ideal candidate must be willing to assist with a number of accounting related responsibilities while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Posting payments from customers and partners
  • Bank deposits (in-person and remote)
  • Accounts Receivable - monitoring and following up on collections
  • Accounts Payable – coding invoices, credit card transactions and preparing weekly check runs
  • Payroll Processing – reviewing employee time sheets and processing payroll
  • Cash Forecasting – preparing and presenting cashflow statements
  • Monthly Reconciliations – banking and general ledger accounts
  • Preparing 1099s and supporting other reporting requirements
  • Responding to and completing vendor credit applications
  • Additional duties as assigned given the varied needs of a business

The right candidate may also assist with the following:

Publicist

Canon is looking for a publicist to oversee Canon’s public relations, brand awareness, and audience growth by appearing on relevant platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day relations with media as well as the social media accounts of the company
  • Schedule events, speaking engagements, visits, tours, interviews, and public appearances with relevant personnel and platforms (radio, podcasts, schools, publishers, content creators, etc.)
  • Answers public enquiries and drafts press releases, creative pitches, event/launch strategy docs, and other public communications
  • Secure 10+ high-quality media placements per month
  • Develop new creative pitches per month that garners press coverage
  • Track and provide insights and benchmarks of media coverage and PR performance
  • Develop and execute influencer campaigns (discovery, vetting, briefing, measurement, fulfillment pipeline from products shipped to shown)
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements
