Jim Wilson

Being Christian is the product of Jim Wilson's practical ministry and scriptural meditation to tens of thousands of Christians over the past thirty-five years.

Look Inside the Book

Being Christian: New Devotional Readings has St. Paul's ambitious goal: to present every person perfect in Christ. With that in mind, this wide-ranging devotional is full of strong texts and short teaching, all organized into bite-size readings. You will find applicable wisdom on every page. Throughout every chapter you will read a huge variety of powerful, concentrated Scriptures, covering fundamental topics like prayer, evangelism, everyday holiness, joy, love, family, and (of course) what it means to be a Christian.

From the Book:

"Strong teaching makes strong Christians. And it makes soft-hearted, tender, loving Christians. But soft teaching makes hard, callused Christians. Soft teaching is for people who have itching ears. They do not wish to have their lives interfered with." -Jim Wilson, from the Preface

Jim Wilson has worked as a pastor and director of Community Christian Ministries (Moscow, Idaho) for over forty years. Before that, he served in the Navy as an officer for nine years and then with Officers' Christian Fellowship for another ten years. Jim has authored a number of books including Weapons & Tactics and How to Be Free from Bitterness and is well known for his practical Bible teaching on relationships and evangelism. Jim's wife Bessie went to be with the Lord in September 2010 after fifty-eight and a half years of married life. As of 2016, they have twenty-six great-grandchildren.

Outstanding, - one call out.

Firstly, what an amazing book! Everything that canon puts out is solid material. Reading Jim Wilson has been a great experience. I was watered and plan to re-read this book again.

Here is my call out. From time to time, Canon has some typos. But this book has a bunch of bible references that were just totally wrong. And I found out when I shared the reference with someone else and they said, “huh?”.

As I begin to read and study through the book, I found out there were several across the book (including the very first one), I would just say humbly, for a $17 book, this probably shouldn’t be the case. —other than that, it was outstanding.

I heartily recommend this book for saints young and old!!

A comprehensive and grounded study, I look forward to continuing in it.

"BEING CHRISTIAN'\"

I've purchased and given out a number of copies of "Being Christian", and will no doubt purchase and give out many more. It puts forth, in devotional format, not "How to be a Christian", but BEING A CHRSTIAN. It is highly recommended for ALL believers.
