Even the apostle Paul had to "learn" contentment. So we shouldn't wonder why we're still in spiritual kindergarten—repeating the same lessons over and over again—if we haven't given ourselves to study contentment. Thankfully, every test God gives on contentment is open book (even the pop quizzes!). In Learning Contentment, Nancy Wilson looks to the Bible and Puritans like Jeremiah Burroughs, Samuel Rutherford, Thomas Watson, and Charles Spurgeon to help us develop the practical, spiritual strength and the perspective that comes from contentment's deep satisfaction with the will of God. This encouraging little book follows after Nancy Wilson's Virtuous: A Study for Ladies of Every Age. Too many conservative Christians have assumed that a biblical worldview of femininity consists simply of being 'not feminist.' But this is lazy, negative, and at the end of the day, just reactionary. Now that I’m a grandma (!!) I realized that I needed a fabulous “happy birthday banner” to hang in my dining room for all of our many family birthdays. I designed it in a classic bunting style with triangle pennants that spelled out happy birthday. But once I had the design all set up for printing I realized how adorable it was as a pattern and this new dishtowel was born! I chose this festive red and pink colorway to finish out this set with a dash of pure peppermint!

This is a print I have used before in other colorways and I brought it back for this set as it is one of my absolute favorites! Sometime back in the early ’90s, I bought a French tablecloth and gave it to my mom as a gift. She used it for probably 10 years, and then when she got a bigger table, I ended up with it. And I’m still using it. After thirty-odd years of washing, it is still amazing. I have always known that if I was ever going to produce tablecloths, they would have to live up to that one. It is still performing SO much better than the many other tablecloths I have owned during the same time. Eventually I had that cotton analyzed, and now we have duplicated both the weave and the cotton treatment of that original fabulous French prototype. The result is the most incredible, soft, light, drapey cotton which washes beautifully, you don’t have to worry about shrinkage, and there’s no need to iron. We made these tablecloths a huge 74" wide, which means it has a terrific, generous hang (even on my extra wide table) and the deep mitered hems add a lovely extra-luxurious finish.

Set this stone next to your sink and place all your freshly washed dishes on it to drip dry.
