āWhen you are brought into a situation like this, you may end up stuck, because you cannot actually deal with a conflict that has nothing to do with you. All youāre really doing is enjoying your friendās anxiety. But in surprising contrast, when you refuse to be drawn in, you can actually help by encouraging the other person to shoulder responsibility for their own problem.ā
