Each lesson of Storybook Latin Year 1 includes stories taken from Phaedrus’s Fables. Phaedrus was the Latin translator of Aesop’s Fables. Each lesson includes a story, flashcards for the story, a simple grammar explanation, questions in Latin about the story, oral exercises, and weekly quizzes. Year 1 introduces noun cases, declensions, and functions, as well as verbs, adjectives, and imperatives.

Really needs audio for vocabulary pronunciation

So far, so good

My students and I are a few lessons in and are happily learning latin. The format and flow of the book are excellent; a well thought out curriculum that is quite effective. Historically accurate illustrations throughout enhance comprehension and keep us interested. My only wish is for audio files to teach us the ditties for memorizing endings. We are pleased with the curriculum and will be recommending it to others.
