Video Team Lead/Producer

Canon Press is looking to add a Video Team Lead to its in-house creative team in Moscow, Idaho. This position will be ideal for a video producer to step into a leadership role while staying involved in production day-to-day, working on high-quality work for the Kingdom. This role will work heavily on video courses, documentaries, promo shoots and trailers, short form content, and more. A desire to contribute creatively, lead a small team to hit deadlines, and create quality work is required.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a small team of editors and videographers to produce quality video work for weekly shows, documentaries, video podcasts, and social media
  • Report directly to the CCO to initiate, execute, and ship projects of all sizes
  • 50% shooting - 50% editing. Must understand production and post-production and assist the teams where needed. Will need to comfortably edit a show, guide the production process on set, and ship content on tight deadlines
  • Create high-end visuals in-studio, on set, and in the field
  • Understand on-set camerawork and lighting
  • Understand the goals and needs of an individual project and how to make it happen
  • Able to take footage into an editing suite and create effective trailers, ads, clips, and social media cuts
  • Values independent thinking, creative vision, and shipping quality work
  • Bring an attentive, engaged, and creative spirit to the Canon team

You Have:

  • 3-5 years of video production experience
  • Experience leading a team of any size
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premier and Adobe line of products
  • Experience shooting a wide variety of content for all media platforms, in both field and studio environments. A strong reel or video samples will be key in applying
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to take initiative where needed, jump in and grab a shovel, get your hands dirty
  • Must be knowledgeable about the latest cinematography techniques and trends
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead teams to ship projects on a schedule
  • Experience with lighting design and setup desired
  • Take responsibility for quality work
  • Experience in media is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment
  • Self-motivated and eager to solve problems
  • Know Canon and the talent - take an interest

Videographer/Editor

Every once in a while Canon opens the doors to enlist talent to join our rag-tag crew of outlaws, innovators, bootleggers, and skilled craftsmen.

Canon Press is looking to add a Videographer/Editor to its in-house creative team in Moscow, Idaho. This position will be responsible for creating a wide variety of video content for all media platforms, including our streaming platform Canon+. This role will work heavily on video courses, documentaries, promo shoots and trailers, short form content, and more. An ability to contribute creatively, self-initiate, and ship a variety of content is highly desired.

What you’ll do:

  • 50% shooting - 50% editing. Must be at minimum comfortable with the full process of film and edit
  • Create high-end visuals in-studio, on set, and in the field
  • Understand on-set camerawork and lighting
  • Understand the goals and needs of an individual project and shoot quality footage for a wide range of applications
  • Able to take footage into an editing suite and create effective trailers, ads, clips, and social media cuts
  • Values independent thinking, creative vision, and shipping quality work
  • Bring an attentive, engaged, and creative spirit to the Canon team
  • Pull and Edit media for playback on weekly podcasts, sync audio and video assets, pull selects, and manage assembly cuts for field recorded projects. Build assembly edits for Video Editors and finish final cuts for various edits. Create lower thirds for show interviews using After Effects
  • Convert, transcode, and compress media for post-production workflow. Ensure all necessary elements are present and edited in a professional and clean manner that fits with the podcast structure and meets the high-quality pirate standards of that particular brand. Assist and fill in for other video team members as needed.
  • Quality check each weekly podcast, original video content, and promotional content produced by the Production and Marketing teams and ensure that there is the correct written format for titles and descriptions, spelling, and export settings.
  • Upload each video to all required platforms and fill in titles and descriptions appropriately, and add/change thumbnails as needed.

Social Media Manager

Responsibilities

  • Be able to develop and implement a corporate social media strategy 
  • Manage content creation, social copy, and publishing.
  • Have an eye on and develop the strategy for expanding onto newer social platforms - increasing reach and fan interaction with the brand.
  • Develop strategies to drive engagement and build community, engaging and interacting with followers. 
  • Understand how to create and produce the same piece of content for each varying social platform.
  • Track content performance, discovering, and implementing actionable insights to improve business outcomes.

Publicist

Canon is looking for a publicist to oversee Canon’s public relations, brand awareness, and audience growth by appearing on relevant platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day relations with media as well as the social media accounts of the company
  • Schedule events, speaking engagements, visits, tours, interviews, and public appearances with relevant personnel and platforms (radio, podcasts, schools, publishers, content creators, etc.)
  • Answers public enquiries and drafts press releases, creative pitches, event/launch strategy docs, and other public communications
  • Secure 10+ high-quality media placements per month
  • Develop new creative pitches per month that garners press coverage
  • Track and provide insights and benchmarks of media coverage and PR performance
  • Develop and execute influencer campaigns (discovery, vetting, briefing, measurement, fulfillment pipeline from products shipped to shown)
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Remote or based in Moscow (preferred)
  • Understands evolution and role of PR in the world of digital and traditional media
  • Ability to understand client brand category and landscape in order to deliver creative ideas that resonate with target audiences
  • Has experience in influencer marketing and social media
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Can meet tight deadlines and has an exceptional eye for details.
