What songs are inside?

This hymnal includes

  • over a hundred and twenty Psalms
  •  Complete Psalter with triple the settings: Cantus 2020 contains at least one complete metrical setting of every Psalm (increased from 114 to 300)
  • More than double the number of Hymns (increased from 189 to 402, yes now it includes Amazing Grace!)
  • More Service Music (increased from 28 to 42)
  • More fuguing tunes (increased from 6 to 26)
  • Removed all chants, decreased the bulk of the Genevan Psalms by half, and added all 50 through-composed Erb Psalms.

Our Favorite Psalter/Hymnal

Our family and many members of our church love the Cantus Christi. We use this for singing in our home with our children and friends. It is beautiful and we love how the psalms/songs are organized.

This will be a labour, but a worthy outcome.

Christ Church went all the way with this. I didn't realize how much more of a hymnal this was. This would take some time and effort as a church to sing these songs well, but its perfectly fitting and glorifying to God to labour in this and create a beautiful praise to the LORD!

Joyful Warrior Now Has Something to Sing!

Our small congregation has been so blessed by this rich liturgical book. What a great weapon to use to train our children and our friends to sing the glorious harmonies of the Psalter and the hymns of the saints before us! Christendom is better equipped to fight well and with greater joy and delight when holding the Cantus Christi.

To Sing and Praise Him Always

We recently talked with friends in London who said that there is a singing culture over there and that the American church never sings in comparison. We're out to prove them wrong, and we're using the Cantus to do it! What a delightful treasure-trove of musical praise this is. The Lord is worthy of all our music, and we are thankful that we have the chance to learn and sing in all circumstances.
