Christians are meant to be kings and queens, growing and expanding Christ’s dominion over the world. This is a great challenge, and it requires wisdom. This is where Proverbs comes in.

Look Inside the Book or Listen on Canon+

The book of Proverbs was written by a king for his son, but the principles found in this book are for everyone–for we are all sons and daughters of the greatest King. Pastor Jared Longshore walks through the wisdom found in Proverbs and points to the ways we can apply this wisdom to our own lives today. Perfect both for young people establishing their households and older folks who want to rule their households more wisely, this book will send you back to Proverbs, hungry to get wisdom.

From the Book

"Put simply, wisdom is a priceless treasure, so get serious about getting it. This exhortation could not be more fitting for us today. Let’s be honest—the train has gone off the tracks. We have manifestly entered Crazy Town. We have officials shutting down a school’s father-daughter dance because it excludes other genders, and college professors unsure which gender pronoun to use when addressing students. Leaders at the highest levels of public office are unwilling to protect life. We do not know up from down or right from left. And insanity is never a good long-term strategy. What are Christians to do in such foolish and evil days? Get wisdom fast, quickly, and in a hurry." -From Wisdom for Kings and Queens, pp. 33-34

Putting legs to the principles of Wisdom

My wife and I read this book together and found it very helpful in making proverbs applicable to everyday life. We both especially loved the last two chapters about the “the woman who fears the Lord” and “the fear of the Lord.” Overall excellent work and I would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in pursuing Christ and His wisdom.

Kings & Queens

Just got started. "When the wise listen to sound words, they learn even more." Good summary of what I have to look forward to in these pages.

Wisdom for Kings and Queens

This book is being used with our teenage boys for after dinner devotions. It is direct, digestable, and practical. We are thinking of sending a copy to a spiritually floundering Christian school we know to use as a sort of "back to basics" rubric.

Great Book, Mid Condition

Got the book a few weeks ago. Have read 5-6 chapters so far. Very easy read, but so encouraging and such great wisdom drawn exegetical from the book of Proverbs. Book was not in perfect condition when arrived though. Book was a bit bent, looking like it was used. And some printing errors left marks on a lot of pages. Did not return because the book is great, not worth the hassle. 9/10 recommend!
