Seeing Green: Don't Let Envy Color Your Joy

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s written in a gripping and convicting way. You can’t put it down without feeling the pain points of your own sins pressed. It was also very informative of attitudes and emotions that we experience in ourselves and others but it doesn’t hold back calling them what they are. I feel like fairness is such a sticking point right now so articulating how God made the world and our borrowed glories was extremely helpful to me and how I lead my family through blessing and sharing in others joy. Like when your brother-in-law pays cash for a Cubertruck haha!

It took me a long time to see how bad envy had rotted out areas of my life, but God is faithful to forgive us our sins. Tilly Dillehay does a great job walking through some of the common ways envy settles into the bones and why it's enormously dangerous. I am thankful for her Biblical stance as she reminds us that Christ is all, and in him, envy has no room to roost.

Very thoughtful and well written book on an often-overlooked topic. It is very easy to ignore this sin, but it can often be the groundwork for many others. Tilly Dillehay unpacks the importance of seeing envy in our own lives.

This book was a doctrinally sound look at envy and leaves the reader with understanding of the devastating effect it has on us when it goes unchecked. The author's writing is engaging, biblical, and convicting.
