Good book overall. Very thorough treatment of "the fear of God." One problem with the Canon Press printing: The verses Psalm 128:1 and Revelation 14:7 are missing on page 1. This should be fixed in future printings.

I've read only the first chapter as a newly-found sheep of the Lord, and this book has already helped me understand the dichotomy, or "relationship" between the words Fear and Love. Fear/Love of God is what's appropriate. Fear is one aspect of worship, love is another. Christ says, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." This means that Love of money is the root of all evil, sure, but ALSO when "Love" is written, there is that same "relationship" or dichotomy. Where "FEAR/Love" of money is the root of all evil - I realized this as I was beginning to spend out of FEAR towards money of the economy crashing, when that Fear/Love/Reverence should only be placed in the Lord! Thanks be to God that John Bunyan shared his talents with us all, and God bless you Douglas Wilson and all employees, big and small, young and old, who take part in the endeavor of Canon Press. This lost sheep has much more to be grateful to God for, through you.

John Bunyan is one of the best writers among the Puritans. His treatment of the fear of God is excellent. It is also a topic that is given considerable weight in Scripture and is never heard in pulpits today. This is highly recommended and will, in the most literal sense, do your soul good.
