Sabbath means rest for your family, and if anything is needed in the frantic, fast-paced modern world, it is rest.

Look Inside the Book

Sundays are feast days. But sometimes, that's awfully hard to remember. We often get too busy trying to keep track of all the rest of our obligations and restrictions. Yet, as Stuart Bryan explains, this is not the emphasis of Scripture. The Lord's Day is a day of freedom, a day defined by thanksgiving—for God's grace, for the opportunities to share that grace with others, and for the hope we have in the glorious rest to come. A Taste of Sabbath is a short defense of sabbath celebration, which includes practical suggestions for you and your family as to how to better remember the rest which the Lord has given us.

What People Are Saying:

"For a long time, there has been a great need for a book that will clearly and briefly and winsomely explain Lord's Day celebration to a culture desperately in need of it. This is that book." -Douglas Wilson

Excellent

Solid biblical explanation of sabbath and sabbath rest. The best book I’ve read on this top so far. Grounded in scripture, the author shows and explains the perpetual ordinance of sabbath, explains the why, the when (loved the part where he points out the transition from Saturday to Sunday using OT and NT scriptures), gives some pointers on the how, and above all shows us the God glorifying and Christ exalting nature of the sabbath day and how it ultimately leads to human flourishing when the body of Christ takes this seriously. Buy it, read it, and read it every year to remind yourself.
