Douglas Wilson is the minister of Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho, which is a member of the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC). He is a Senior Fellow of theology at New St. Andrews College and the author of numerous books, including Reforming Marriage, The Case for Classical Christian Education, and When the Man Comes Around. He and his wife Nancy have three children and a horde of grandchildren.

Customers praised this guide for building Christian communities as "a fantastic primer" and "great read" that's "simple, to the point and extremely well written." Many noted it's a "quick read" with "helpful guidelines" and "great wisdom nuggets." Some felt it was "too short" and wanted more depth. Minor typos were mentioned but didn't detract from the strong message.
Doug writes what has been bopping around in my mind for while reading my Bible, especially Deuteronomy, and serving as a pastor. It has brought some clarity to what has been lovingly expressed and counseled to me as “Crazy Calvinist” or “should just be taken to the college classroom as a professor.” It’s good to know I am a crazy Calvinist and I should take this beyond the college classroom (the nursery seems like a better start). I recommend this book to every elder, deacon, and layman when it seems like dire straits in your locality. I guarantee you won’t use your money for nothing.

Well who the heck is Gashmu?! His option doesn’t matter, this book clarifies that and serves to whet the appetite of those interested in building New Christendom. Easy quick read. Do it.

I’m on my third time reading through this book, and each time it gets better. In a day when it seems like the world is falling apart around us, this is a handbook towards a better world. Get it. Read it. Live it.
Reads like a podcast, hits like a truck. This little book provides helpful guidelines for building the Kingdom one self ruled household (or congregation) at a time.
If you've been doing it wrong, it offers rebuke. If not, it serves as great encouragement to keep at it. Any true hearted christian reading this book should find themselves experiencing both.
Of course I'm recommending it to a brother.

The contents were great, but it felt like Doug was just getting warmed up. There must be more to this whole topic. If Dreher's "Live Not By Lies" is Miller Lite, I need a couple more rounds of strong dark ale from Doug. Unless we switch to Talisker, of course. Rich Jefferson

This is a fantastic primer on the topic of Christian Dominion.
The writing is on the wall. The American "relevant" church is dead. In this book Douglas Wilson has compiled God's approach to building a culture worth passing on. It seems that Wilson is bent on obeying what the Bible actually says. You'll find much to grin about in this helpful, to the point field manual for church builders or for any Christian thirsty for a canteen of sanity.

Pastor Doug Wilson does a great job writing a short, but inspiring book on culture change. His sense of humor translates well through his writing, which makes for an entertaining and informational read. I highly recommend this book for leaders who are serious about building a local church with culture change in mind.
It was good enough for me to buy extras and send them out to friends. Christians concerned about the future of the church would be better prepared by reading this small gem with big ideas

Outstanding and desperately needed analysis of the role and character of the church in our terribly ill present day culture
This book is a thoroughly winsome, practical, and succinct guide to living out your theology. While the brevity meant that it was finished too quickly, the length makes it easy to digest and pass along.
Too short, but helpful and encouraging. I appreciated the section on doing business with other believers in the church.
