This book, in typical Wilson fashion, captures a timeless truth in a timely way: the best way to conquer ground for the Kingdom is (Christ submitted, Spirit led, God glorifying) movement one step at a time. Plod on.

I really enjoyed this book. It is not just about plodding away at a pile of work, Doug Wilson presents a framework from which to approach the pile of work which results in consistent productivity. He uses Proverbs as his main text.
Viewing technology as a form of wealth was a mindblowing reality. All of our tech is basically there to serve us in some way. However, we tend to have our "...9,000 servants sitting on the back veranda, smoking cigarettes, and passing the time." (pg. 54). Or, more frequently, in my opinion, we tend to summon our 9,000 servants for our entertainment rather than for productivity.
What are you doing with your wealth? Are you investing it in the kingdom? Or are you, like the unfaithful servant, burying it in the sand? This book helps us to recognize the vast amounts of wealth we actually possess and how to rightly use them for the betterment of Christendom.

Great quick read on being a productive man or woman in society, a book to reread and pass on to others. I love that there is very little to no fluff in Doug’s books, he gets to the point and backs it quickly.

Thought-provoking in that Doug clearly shows technology to be a form of wealth and hence should be viewed with skeptical gratitude. Encouraging in that Doug show how productive plodding can be. Highly recommend!

This is a very good book with a fresh perspective on technology. There a few pitfalls a Christian can fall into, and this lays out a helpful theological perspective. This is NOT a self-help book, for making you your best you. This is a book about more than just efficiency.
