Forrest Dickison illustrates children’s books, paints landscapes, and works in animation. He and his wife Danielle live in Moscow, Idaho and have three young daughters. Forrest illustrated all the books in the Hello, Ninja series, which became a hit original series on Netflix, and he also wielded the paint behind Sir Badalot. The paper is nice and thick, it will survive longer than other picture books. The art is so pretty, and the story is sweet. Exited for the show!
We have the original version and it was perfect for the 2-3 year old years…this new updated extended version is so fun. We all love it! The words are already memorized and the pictures offer so much exploration and imagination.
I read Blah Blah Blacksheep to three of my grandchildren over facetime this morning, and when I finished they immediately yelled in unison, “Read it again!”
Not only is it beautiful and fun, but it’s his book has been useful in parenting. When my boys, 4 and 3, start to pour we ask “are you going to kill the cranky dragon?” It’s a simple and fun way to remind them that they can obey and blessed even when they’re sad or disappointed. They even ask to read it when they’re having a particularly grumpy day.
This book is great! BEAUTIFUL illustrations, creative writing and wordplay. And most importantly, a good story to use the relate to children’s real lives. 10/10 HAVE recommended

Illistrations are beautiful! Such a cute story.
My son (he’s two) and I love, love this book. I can’t get enough of the pictures, the illustrations are gorgeous! I love the detail put into each page. I notice new things every time I read it. It’s a feast to look at. The story is really fun and engaging, and teaches a good lesson in an exciting way.
My son loves this book, and so do I! Both the writing and the illustrating are lovely. It’s fun and cheerful and a relevant story for little ones (and grown ups, too!).
I love what the book teaches and the illustrations and imagination don't get boring to read to my kids. The book extends beyond the story itself.

All of my kids 18months to 13 years old love these books! My 13 year old is inspired bt the illustrations and my 9 year old said "this is a great book for little kids to learn from" and has offered to read it to the younger siblings many times!
This is a great little kids book! Does seem a bit pricey but my kids enjoy the story!

Crispin's Rainy Day
After finishing this book, my three year old uttered an “Amen!” and I couldn’t agree more.
Both I and my children (ages 3,5, and 7) love this book. There are some books that are a slog as a parent to get through. This is not one of those. You will love it and so will your kids. Surprisingly humorous too. There is a page that always gets a laugh.
I recently was exposed to the disappointing movie, How to Train a Dragon. It was demoralizing and terribly confusing for young Christian minds who are drawn in by the beautiful animation and empathy with God’s creatures. In contrast, Crispin’s Rainy Day displays excellent art with a noble and realistic drama. The hero overcomes his own sin to win the day for a godly feminine hero who instructs me every time I think of her character. This is good art!
My kid loves it
absolutely fantastic! i got this as a late Christmas gift for two young kids, a brother and sister. As they say: kill the dragon, get the girl!
