Look Inside the Book or Listen on Canon+

Unfortunately for Ace, everyone despises his kind of "radical" Christianity, and, in the fragile America of the future, all the juries are fixed.

A satirical novel from an award-winning pastor about love, the crack-up of the U.S.A., and refusing to back down when the whole world calls you crazy.

Pastor Douglas Wilson continues his cheerful assault on stupidity with this provocative new satirical novel. Already labeled “the controversialist” by Christianity Today, and then given CT’s annual award for Best Fiction in 2013, Wilson pulls no punches when it comes to hypocrisy, love, sex, and providence in contemporary culture. His darkly amused insights will either make you furious or make you laugh, or make you laugh furiously, but they’ll never leave you bored.

Satire?

There are no safe spaces in Douglas Wilson's stories.
Ride Sally, Ride proves it is just as true in his near future sci-fi as it was in his skewering of worldly evangelicalism in Evangellyfish~ Hunter Baker, J.D., Ph.D., Author and Dean at Union University

What satire? . . .
Wilson grasps the untold ambiguities that contemporary pastors experience. This is realistic fiction. No, make that just realistic. ~ Mark Galli, Senior Managing Editor, Christianity Today, on "Evangellyfish"

Scathing . . . Insightful . . . Hilarious. . .
Evangelicalism is ripe for satire and Wilson does it well. ~ Tim Challies, Challies.com, on Evangellyfish

Doug Wilson isn't writing about 'those crazy Christians'
He's writing about us crazy Christians . . . Wilson understands better than most that 'judgment must begin at the house of God,' and that God still dwells there despite the most squalid conditions. ~ Ted Olsen, Managing Editor, News & Online Journalism, Christianity Today, on Evangellyfish

Not a Christian insider novel . . .
And it's not gentle. It cuts deeply and shamelessly. . . But it will make sense to anyone who's witnessed the horrifying antics, political quagmires, and social foolishness common to American experience and to its Christian evangelical subculture in particular. ~  -Aaron Belz, Books and Culture, On Evangellyfish

Wilson's almost medical precision with the human soul makes Evangellyfish a fantastic read.... -The American Conservative, May 2012

Jah, Ufda!

Aside from a couple superfluous passages, a very engaging novel. Fully recommended.

Great story.

It is the only book where my family read it then immediately reread it and also had my mom laughing out loud.

Entertaining

Good fun. Distinctively contrarian, double-edged perspective on current progressive zeitgeist and evangelical thought leadership. Eerily prophetic reminder that God loves us and wants us to be optimistic. Big Ed and Big Eva beware!

Very entertaining read

One of the best fiction novels I've read in a while. Laughs, tears, redemption through Christ. I recommend this one to whoever I can

Whatabook

I have never read any of Doug Wilson's novels, so I didn't know what to expect, but this was just great. Seriously, just read it and you'll see what I mean.

This isn't a novel...it is a travesty.

Doug Wilson has a long reputation as a homophobe, a racist, an ability, and one of the most careless, heartless, fools in Idaho. That he has ignorantly chosen the title to include the name of America's beloved Sally Ride shows us just how little he is aware of US history or important cultural icons in the US. This novel (and I use that term very lightly in Wilson's case) is actually just a really bad rant. Wilson is simply a nut.

Ironic, Yet Iconic

Brilliant. The style was humorous, the doctrine was on-point, and the characters were sympathetic (or appropriately detestable, in several instances.) Also, uncannily accurate, which is slightly eerie. Please keep on truckin'!
