Chemistry 3 (Grades 7-8)

What a great program! This is the first time I am teaching chemistry. As I told my co-op students (6th -9th grade), I am learning alongside with them. Noeo Chemistry makes this easy and interesting! The materials chosen for this class are excellent! We are yet to get into the first experiments, but are looking forward to seeing what's 'in the box'. Experiment are set to start in week 8. I have supplemented the lessons with short videos to spruce up the hour-long class. Also, I would recommend writing out definitions, using a 'chemistry history timeline' to keep track, as well as utilizing a periodic table template that the students fill in as new elements are introduced. This course is well worth your while and will definitely give students a thorough introduction to chemistry!

Chemistry 3

Chemistry was one subject I was nervous to tackle with my daughter this year, but it is our favorite subject! The lessons are engaging and so interesting!! I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to engage with their science curriculums!

A group of 4 families each took turns teaching these lessons to a group of 6 kids from 6th-9th grade. This curriculum was very thorough and did a great job building on concepts. The textbooks used were very informative and interesting. I will say some of the mom's thought this curriculum was only so-so and didn't think the lessons were very connected. Those mom's didn't do the readings every week like I did. I read these readings out loud to the kids on Marco Polo so some of them (with reading challenges) could keep up with the course. Since I did all the readings along with the kids, I was able to always connect the dots from one week to the next even if I wasn't the one to do the experiments with the kids. The experiments didn't always work but MOST of them did and helped describe concepts that the kids had never known to discuss before. Overall this was an amazing curriculum and more thought out than high school courses I've seen done from home. Our lone 6th grader was not overwhelmed and our 9th grader did not think it was too easy. It was the perfect curriculum for our group this year! We were able to finish the whole course in one year doing 1-2 lessons, 3 times a month (we meet once a week on Wednesdays and do a rotating 3 weeks science and then one week field trip then repeat). We did the readings during the week before meeting up and met every Wednesday for the experiments. On weeks when there wasn't an experiment (not often ) we came up with another way to teach that concept and drive it home. Thank you Noeo!

I was very hesitant to buy this kit because i was worried it wouldn't fit our family. But this was the best fit. It is truly open and go. It spells everything out to you. The children have fun learning and reading and doing the experiments. I have 7 children and this curriculum is the easiest to teach. I love it!!!

This curriculum is not an original curriculum. It is a blend separately published Chemistry books and a Chem 2000 chemistry set. So, with that in mind, almost all the books are good, interesting. colorful books. I wish there were more little quizzes and activities. But it is good to have a plan at least that I didn't have to plan. I'm actually using this for high school chemistry and I think it will be fine.

We can’t wait to start experiments next week, the secret box is only building the anticipation for what is inside. Lots of gum was eaten this week for our Week 7 project which made for a lot of laughs. Chemistry is quickly becoming my son’s favorite subject.

This program is simple to use and has great resources. The projects really help the kids to comprehend what they are being taught!

We have been homeschooling for a while now and am so thrilled to have learned about this company. The time spent weekly with my middle school boys discovering more about chemistry is precious. Thank you for such a wonderful and thought out product. Chemistry is not my strong suite, however Noeo's approach is so fantastic...looking forward to Physics next as well.

My daughter (12, grade 7) is enjoying learning and experimenting with the Chemistry 3. They different books for reading assignments keep her engaged.

I do wish there were ready to go quizzes or tests to quickly gauge comprehension and to include in her portfolio.
