It’s commonsensical and yet so inspirational for women to reclaim their roles and stop believing lies, that unfortunately, even some churches promote now.

Mrs. Merkle's thoughtful treatment of historic feminism and it's contributions to the murky, disordered world of the contemporary western woman is priceless. Without prompting, my daughter (18) and wife (of a certain age) and a number of other women we know picked it up along with female educators who are using it with small groups. Feminism is a major cornerstone in the super-structure of secularism; and that structure is collapsing before our 21st century eyes. The negative impact on our generation is hard to overstate. With references in this book, one can draw a direct line from the birth of feminism right through the bloody French Revolution and into the saddened lives of neglected, unprotected and exhausted throngs of today's western "liberated" women. A must read.
Such an important message we Christian women need to hear. How DO we define ourselves? Rebecca uncovers the ways many of us have absorbed the world's definition of what we (women) should be, and how we can confidently stand firm in Christ's calling for women.

Pretty good. My main critique is that it wasn’t “happy” enough. I was hoping for a little more exultation in what it means to be woman of God. There was too much of “this is how God made it,” and not enough “and I like it that way.”

This book is excellent. It does such a good job of educating about feminism and how it has affected women through the years. It is also so encouraging to Christian women. It builds them up and encourages lives of biblical femininity! I have made it my mission in life to get this book into as many women’s hands as possible!

I love how the book gave a great historical viewpoint and even made the point many of the ideas that early feminist had were good things — but they fell so short. Rebekah does a great job laying out the beauty of being a woman who is the keeper of her home and how we bless those around us without painting the picture of a woman who must STAY at home. Very balanced and very biblical — highly recommend!
