This was such a pleasant surprise, it’s the perfect book set to go along with our current reading curriculum. My son loves the books and it’s so hard to find an engaging story for beginner readers! The illustration is adorable and attention grabbing and the sticker chart is such a key component to motivating my young reader!

The quality of the physical books and illustrations is top notch. I love the beginning sequence of short vowels. The scope and sequence isn't quite aligned with suggested phonics instruction order. However, these stories are a great option for students who are ready to apply a wider arrange of phonics skills.
My 4-year-old is already memorizing the letter sounds and loves to ask to practice them. We are excited to start reading the cute books! My only constructive feedback would be about the choices of some of the images- she was initially thrown off by fox for the letter X, and said "buh" for "R" because she thought the rabbit was "bunny." Otherwise, perfection!

We’ve really enjoyed reading Chickadee Readers: My First Stories with our children. The stories are short, engaging, and written in a way that keeps their attention without being overwhelming. The illustrations are colorful and cheerful, which makes reading time fun for both kids and parents. I also appreciate that the stories introduce simple vocabulary and themes that are easy for young readers to follow. It’s been a great way to start building a love of reading at home. I have been using this with my son for a couple weeks now and it’s been a game changer. The poster and stickers to track their journey makes it super interactive and fun for kids which is huge in keeping them interested! This is a great set and would highly recommend to any one struggling or needing some extra help with teaching your kids how to read and keeping them engaged!

My daughter just started and is really engaged with this because of the quality of the pictures. She has tried other similar programs but they are older and pictures did not interest her which made her not want to try to read the book. So far she is excited and I am too.
We are a home school family with 4 children, and I have been teaching my children for over 12 years now. We recently switched to a classical style of teaching and have incorporated Kraken Latin 1 into the mix. I have grades 12, 10, and 7 learning Kraken Latin 1 together with surprising success (since we have no previous Latin experience). The DVD that accompanies the books is very helpful, a MUST-have. Two thumbs up!
We’ve tried other early readers, but Chickadee Readers makes it step-by-step and stress-free. The confidence it’s given my child is priceless. My child’s vocabulary has grown, and I can see her joy in reading growing too.
I got these in mail and was SOO excited to start these with my daughters right away. the quality and info in these books are amazing and will for sure help me teach them!
There was a surprising amount of increasing challenge between each level. I have two new Kindergarteners and one starting 2nd grade and all three children have benefitted greatly from this book series, and each is challenged by a different level. The kids enjoy the colors of the books/illustrations. The stories are just long enough to create a motivating challenge and sense of accomplishment upon completion without being daunting/exhausting. The stories are gripping to the point that my kids often end each book with a smile on their faces at each story's conclusion. This was money well invested on my kids' futures in my opinion!
Chickadee Readers has truly created something special with this box set. I love that the books are organized by different levels, making it easy for children to build confidence as they grow. The design of the box is thoughtful and convenient & everything fits perfectly, and it feels like a complete package. The addition of the flashcards is such a helpful tool, and the game board makes reading feel fun and interactive by letting children check off their progress as they go.
For me, this set is a perfect addition to my daycare and also for my grandchildren at home. The books are engaging, the structure is intentional, and the extras make it stand out from any other reading set I’ve used. I absolutely love Chickadee Readers and highly recommend them for both parents and educators.

My kindergartener absolutely loves reading the book of the day and getting the sticker for completing the book. It’s enraging, encouraging, and gamified. He felt empowered to read independently. We absolutely LOVE this!
