32 Christians Who Changed Their World

The Christian faith is a call to adventure. Be inspired by these thirty-two saints and give thanks for their faithful stories. Now go and do likewise where God has put you.

For two thousand years, average Christians have been transforming culture, and this collection of stories by Dr. Glenn Sunshine tells some of those stories. Men like Robert Grosseteste and Roger Bacon laid the foundations for science. Political figures like Abba Enbaqom and Sorghaghtani Beki (daughter-in-law of Genghis Khan) promoted Christianity in societies hostile to it. Christians like Roque González and Solomon Plaatje opposed racial oppression, and heroes like Andre Trocme and Ho Fengshan helped Jews escape the Holocaust.

These men and women all have stories that show how broad and transformative the Christian faith really has been on the world. Learn these stories and be like them.

Heralds of the Reformation

Why do we have Bibles in our own language everywhere? Why is the Gospel preached from the depths of Africa to the remotest parts of the Himalayas? It is because heroes of the faith gave their lives to bring the Word of God to the world.

The Reformation was an era with many examples of remarkable faithfulness, courage, and learning. However, few Christians today are familiar with their spiritual ancestors, the men who are responsible not only for much of our current understanding of the Bible and the Christian gospel, but also for the massive explosion of the Gospel all over the world today. If we want to continue to bear witness to the truth as faithfully as our fathers in the faith, we need to know their stories. Hannula's book includes thirty short, but profound stories of Reformation-era courage. They can easily be read aloud to children or used by homeschoolers as part of their curriculum. Additionally, this book includes an overview of key events in the Reformation, a detailed Timeline from 1516 to 1598, seven short summaries of Reformation Basics, and comprehension questions and answers on all thirty biographies.

Radiant

Your family will be fascinated and fed by these fifty true stories of great Christian women throughout history.

From South America to Europe, from China to Africa to the Wild West, in prisons and in throne rooms, many great Christians have left a stunning legacy for their successors. These short and moving biographies for young people introduce fifty often unfamiliar champions of the faith: women like Ida Kahn, who opened the first hospital in a Chinese city of 300,000 people; Lady Anne Hamilton, who rode with the Covenanter cavalry at the decisive Battle of Berwick; and Anngrace Taban, who was forced to type secret battle plans for the Sudan People's Liberation Army. In a culture where women's role in society is often at question, these examples of faithfulness can remind us that courage and godliness are possible anywhere, even if you are surrounded by Muslim raiders, Japanese guards, Nazis, or cannibals.

Incredible mug!

This mug will be used every month. It doesn’t let you use any cream or sweetener in it. It makes you drink your coffee black. Keeps the No Quarter November feeling alive through the rest of the year!

Homeschool Bundle Sample

I received the homeschool sample particularly interested in the materials for my kindergartener and was very impressed! I will surely be committing to the Logos Presss curriculum!

Nice

It’s a nice long sleeve! It’s a thinner fabric (which I can’t figure out if I like). What I do like about it is how soft it is. A quality shirt indeed.

A gift for my husband. Excellent quality, as expected.

A dream come true

I distinctly remember when I was going into the third grade and so excited to start learning Latin, only to find out public schools no longer taught Latin.

My children and I are enjoying learning Latin together. The 3 year old does the amo chant and says,”Deus made the terra out of nihil!”

The audio tracks are helpful for pronunciation and the vocabulary stories make the words easier to remember.

We also use the flash cards. I print them when we move on to another week.

Most of my kids aren’t able to do the worksheets and quizzes but it’s easy enough to quiz them verbally.

We spend as much time as we need in each week. We take about a month per week and review the past vocabulary words to keep them fresh.
I definitely recommend this curriculum.

Blah blah blah

My kids love singing blah blah black sheep 😂

It IS abrupt at “ just be a normal sheep”. I think that’s the point though. It stands out and gives you pause.

It’s a great reminder to consider how God had made our children and not to be a fussy auntie sheep type.

We love reading good books to our kids. Thanks for making this one

alright

It was okay. I expected better from Nate. If there's any level of sibling rivalry to stoke, you guys should know that Cranky Danky Dragon takes a much higher standing in our household.

Dickenson's illustrations are on point.

Such a cute book!

It’s a Christmas gift. Have not read it yet.

Compelling, energetic, truthful

I listened to the audiobook on Canon+ and I'm keeping the physical book pages fresh for my daughter (it's a Christmas gift). This is an energetic, earnest, and deeply researched book set in a dystopian future that begs the reader to see the true value of human life. It was a page turner for sure, but it also wasn't without literary beauty or characterization. I was very impressed by Newell's first published book and hope to read more in the future.

Men and Marriage
Dan Kitinoja
Made sense of my experience and observation

As a young man I was reckless at times and could be dangerous to myself and others. When I got married much of that changed rather quickly. I have seen this in other men. Guilders book also made sense of what I see in the culture and also what I saw in my studies as a sociology major. Almost every problem in society was said to be about wealth, class status, gender and education disparity. And the solutions to these problems were always tax the people who work and give it to those who won’t. I always knew that seemed shortsighted and incomplete and most likely incorrect. George Gilder explains why. The reason is that men don’t serve society well when we do not ask them and expect them to feed their families and build a society. This is a must read

Blah blah bold sheep

I bought the book as my nephew's Christmas present and almost kept it. The art is wonderful and it seems like there's more to find each time. The story is perfect for a young boy or even adults looking for a fun story.

I just finished this book and decided to buy it for a friend. I highly recommend!! Such great truths for trusting in the Lord and a great resource for any woman at any age!

Looked like a fun child's read

A little simplistic.
