The Case for Christian Nationalism

Evangelical elites and the progressive media complex want you to think that Christian nationalism is hopelessly racist, bigoted, and an idol for right-wing Christians. Is Christian nationalism the golden calf of the religious right—or is it the only way forward?

Few “experts” answering this question actually know what nationalism is–and even fewer know what could make it Christian. In The Case for Christian Nationalism, Stephen Wolfe offers a tour-de-force argument for the good of Christian nationalism, taken from Scripture and Christian thinkers ancient, medieval, and modern. Christian nationalism is not only the necessary alternative to secularism, it is the form of government we must pursue if we want to love our neighbors and our country.

Wolfe shows that the world’s post-war consensus has successfully routed the United States towards a gynocratic Global American Empire (GAE). Rather than the religious right’s golden calf, Christian nationalism is the idea that people in the same place and culture should live together and seek one another’s good. The grace of the gospel does not eliminate our geography, our people, and our neighbors. Instead, it restores us to pursue local needs and local leadership freely and without apology.

If you want to be able to answer the political debate raging today, you must understand the arguments in The Case for Christian Nationalism.

Includes The Companion to The Case for Christian Nationalism.

Mere Christendom

Christ conquered the West the first time. And this is how He’ll do it again.

And when He does it again, Christians must be ready to take the lead.

Jesus really is the answer to Taxes, Civil Resistance, and speech laws. However, Christians do not need another political platform. They need a plan. This book is that plan.

"If we succeed, this will not be Christian America. If we succeed, this will be the Christian America as the prodigal son, tired of the pig food, coming home to his father."

You may not live in Christendom now, but your great-grandkids could.

Empires of Dirt: Secularism, Radical Islam, and the Mere Christendom Alternative

As it self-destructs, the strategy of secularism (the idea that nations can be religiously neutral) is splitting between American exceptionalism and radical Islam. Neither are Christian.

American exceptionalism, the belief that America is more than a nation, is folly. Radical Islam is obviously wrong as well, but Muslims at least own the nature of the current cultural conflict: You must follow somebody, whether it's Allah, the State, or Jesus Christ. This important and timely book is an analysis of the changing face of religion and politics and also an extended argument for Christian expression of faith in Jesus Christ. This does not mean a withdrawal from politics to our own communities and churches. Instead, we Christians must take what we have learned from the wreck of secularism and build a Christendom of the New Foundation: A network of nations bound together by a formal, public, civic acknowledgement of the lordship of Jesus Christ and the fundamental truth of the Apostles' Creed. "And you could have it all, My empire of dirt...." ~ Nine Inch Nails; Johnny Cash

Slaying Leviathan: Limited Government and Resistance in the Christian Tradition

Christians first expressed these political truths under Caesars, kings, popes, and emperors. We need them in the age of presidents.

Leviathan is rising again, and the first weapon we must recover is the longstanding Christian tradition of resisting governmental overreach. Our bloated bureaucratic state would have been unrecognizable to the Founders, and our acquiescence to its encroachments on liberty would have infuriated them. But here is the point: our Leviathan would not have surprised them. They were well acquainted with the tendency of governments to turn tyrannical: “Eternal vigilance is the price we pay for liberty.”

In Slaying Leviathan, historian Glenn S. Sunshine surveys some of the stories and key elements of Christian political thought from Augustine to the Declaration of Independence. Specifically, the book introduces theories of limited government that were synthesized into a coherent political philosophy by John Locke. Locke, of course, influenced the American founders and was, like us, fighting against the spirit of Leviathan in his day. But his is only one of the many stories in this book.

Includes the Slaying Leviathan Group Discussion Guide.

"Despite its brevity, the Vindiciae’s sharp defense of the right of subjects to resist unjust or ungodly rulers even to the point of armed rebellion helped shape the political theories of John Locke in England and the American Founding Fathers.

Its arguments on the rights and responsibilities of rulers and subjects continue to be relevant today as we consider the limits of the power of the government and the rights of citizens to oppose governmental overreach." ~ Dr. Glenn Sunshine, from the Introduction

In 1572, Roman Catholic soldiers slaughtered thousands of French Huguenots for their Protestant faith.

This calamity forced many Protestants to ask whether taking up arms against a king was even lawful.

Many Christians thought that even in the case of persecution, kings had absolute power and lesser magistrates had no right to resist them.

Vindiciae Contra Tyrannos: A Defense of Liberty Against Tyrants, written by an anonymous Huguenot, is a powerful tract that makes a case for why Christians can sometimes lawfully resist and fight against tyrants and persecutors of the faith.

The apostles told the Jews that they needed to obey God rather than man when it came to the Gospel, and to this day many Christians need to be reminded that men only derive their power from God and there are indeed times when resisting the authorities may be lawful and even biblically required.

This tract is thoroughly biblical and a great testament to the courage and convictions of our fathers in the faith.

Leadership and Emotional Sabotage: Resisting the Anxiety That Will Wreck Your Family, Destroy Your Church, and Ruin the World

God knew I needed this book

This book came out at the same time a situation exploded in my life. It helped me see not only how others had tried to emotionally sabotage me, but also convicted me on how I had allowed myself to compromise in the events leading up to the controversy. Joe Rigney gave me a concise treatment on the biblical view of power dynamics and relationships, and inspired me to practice joyful, sober-minded faithfulness moving forward. Thank you!!

Leadership and emotional sabotage

This book is amazing. It has so much insight on how to lead me family, church, and school in a godly way. I bought 7 copies and I probably need
to buy more because I keep giving them away! Everyone needs a copy!

My daughter loves to pull these books out and start reading them or attempting to read them all by herself. This set of books has made her want to read independently and I also love hearing her laugh at the story lines.

It came as expected and was very well wrapped up and protected.

Not as many questions as usual

This is a good reading guide, but it's only 3 pages, and lasted for 3 days of reading. All the others I've gotten are for chapter books, which are 20+ pages of questions and last for 20+ days of readings.

Simple and Helpful

This book is Biblical, Helpful, Convicting, and Encouraging. A fantastic resource for those who want to fulfill their God-given role in family, business, and community.

Best book I’ve ever read

Can’t put into words how incredible this book is. The encouragement it is to see how God can use a Christian ruler to radically change the direction of an apathetic nation heading towards apostasy. The strategy King Alfred used to redirect England is the same strategy that we must employ. Repent, fight off the pagans, restore right worship, implement Christian education, overhaul the legal system to line up with the general equity of Israel’s civil code.

This book is a must read

The wisdom the world has been lacking

There are many ideas and schemes people have developed regarding leadership. Almost all lack the global biblical grounding this book has. Each page has impactful, solid, and virtuous teaching to help people be the leaders God wants them to be.

Little Book With A Big Punch

"Girly men" have been abandoning their God-given responsibilities over the years. This short book packs a big punch and a call to action in Godly leadership in the home, Church, and in the world. Men need to be men again!

A rare, super useful book: great clarity and thankfully concise. It’s priceless.

An Excellent Classic

This is a very well written classic with great content for children and adults. A charming fairy tale with deeper truths involved. You also can pick up some of the notes that C S Lewis took into his Chronicles of Narnia Series. The Canon edition of this classic has beautiful art and is well formatted.

A Historical Novel With Application Today

This was an enjoyable read. Although written for a younger audience, adults will enjoy it. One note of critique, it would be nice to have a note explaining which characters are historical, and which are fictional, and maybe a short bio on those based on actual people. King Alfred and his brother are historical, but I couldn't find anything on an Ealderman named Edmund. Also, this is about the same point in history that the Turks began to be a problem in Europe. Any correlation?

Absolute gem

A surprisingly great read. Didn't have any expectations going in and was pleasantly surprised, definitely worth a re-read and loved the hardback itself

Must Read for Fathers and Pastors

Christian men are called to be sober-minded. But what does that look like? Joe Rigney helps flesh out that statement, not just hypothetically, but how it looks in your day-to-day life. Men, this book is the encouraging wake-up call you need. Also, buy this for your pastors and elders.

Another way to look at our failure in leadership

A really effective way of explaining men's failure at leadership, how we can look at the issue and how to correct our actions. Very helpful to me.

I thought the book was a measured, balanced and thoroughly biblical. I've recommended it for all of our small group leaders. What he's describing is the main problem pastors have faced since 2020 & will continue to face in the coming years. Be prepared to be called a "drunkard & glutton" like Jesus or "in it for the money" like Paul in order to obey Jesus. He accurately describes what false accusation does and how it works to manipulate pastors & how suffering persecution means suffering "rank falsehoods" that try to turn the hearts of fellow believers against one another. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend.

My Goto Gift for Trials!

This book has been such a blessing to me personally and to many loved ones. I found it right after a devastating divorce and have read through it yearly since. The short chapters are an ideal size to ponder over without making a big time investment (perfect for a single mom). It’s such a comfort during trials of many kinds and has help to inspire me to learn to sing the Psalms as well as commit large passages to memory. I’ve been gifting copies to women in my life as they go through various trials and they’ve given positive feedback too! One of the biggest things is that it has played a role in getting my aunt back attending church after a decade+ absence. Glory be to God!

Solid, elegant construction, interesting translation.

The quality of the box set is top notch. The feel of the covers and the thickness of the paper makes for a very enjoyable read. The formatting of the text is very useful not just for reading, but there is plenty of room for underlining, marking, and small notetaking. All in all a very simple, readable, and uncluttered text. The translation itself is the only thing I have an issue with. I figured with it being 'modernized' it would actually be more modern than it is. The sentence structure is still the same, and though some words have been changed there's a lot that has stayed the same. I would liken it more to a KJVer or 21st Century King James, rather than a New King James Version. It is not bad, just interesting. We need more translations based on the Textus Receptus, so I like that this translation stands in that tradition. I just think that there's a bit more "modernizing" that could be done to really make this translation stand out and hold its own in the translation market.
